My story

Hi, my name is Russell Bowden, and I've specialised in bid management and construction programming for over 30 years.

Generally, I help companies that dont have huge internal resources to produce construction programmes or bid documents to produce well presented, well thought out and factually correct proposals, all designed to project a professional approach and help companies secure new work and future opportunities.

It is very often the case that my clients may use my services as an overspill facility allowing their internal teams to concentrate on other opportunities.

Training

My initial professional training, many moons ago was founded in large construction projects working for a contractor called Mowlem PLC, unfortunately not around today, but my training saw me work on helping to construct Tower42, formerly the NatWest Tower, and a large town centre development in Redhill, Surrey.

This period of time gave me an appreciation of many areas of construction including several piling methods, precast and insitu concrete structures, steel frames, tower crane usage and lots lots more.

Formative years

After my 4 year training agreement as a surveyor, I worked for a medium sized contractor called Mansells working on local authority, health, public sector and commercial schemes typically with project values ranging from £0.5m upto £15m.

These could of typically been the re-roofing of a block of flats or the contruction of a brand new school. For the last 25 years, my niche market has become commercial office fit out, covering basebuild, Cat A and B projects whilst maintaining a portfolio of residential and refurbishment schemes.

Numerous forms of contracts covered including JCT standard forms, design and build and other more bespoke forms.

How I can help you

Usually my focus will be to take ownership of the construction programme, developing the pre-construction and procurement processes with subcontractor co-ordination leading into a critical path analysed contruction sequence of work.

By taking ownership of the contruction programme, it allows me to appreciate logistical needs, local restrictions, key procurement and manufactoring periods, MEP co-ordination and design management.

I will always take into account my clients budget, any concerns they may have and advise when appropriate.
